To: William Hawkins, Hitchin [Hertfordshire].
From: The General Board of Health.
Subject Matter: Draft letter acknowledging receipt of a letter dated 28 March 1850, advising that his engagements will not admit of him performing the duties required by the Public Health Act of the person appointed to conduct the election of the Local Board of Health, and that he has intimated to Mr Stevens his intention to decline the office proposed to be vested in him by the Order in Council, published in the London Gazette of the 19 March 1850.
