3389. Benedict Arnold to Captain McCollick [Captain Kollock]. A letter from Headquarters in Portsmouth [Virginia] acknowledging one dated 6 March , and stating that information on General Washington heading south had been received, and the Commodore, when asked, refused to send any ships to intercept. An express boat arrived from New York with a fleet of transports containing about three thousand troops. Request for an express boat with any further information on Mr Washington, if available, on receipt of letter.
