Folio 216: Rochford to Shelburne. Nothing definite about Corsica, Sorba has power to negotiate. The French counter-proposal [see f.206] will probably take place as quietly as possible. He refers to f.147 and while believing that France is preparing as fast as possible, it will be a long time before she is ready. He confirms the examination of her coasts and refers to the probable sending of a person called Aubert to England, giving his address in London. He does not confirm the references to heavy lead imports or the accumulating of gold. Secret.
Date and place: 1767 Apr 28 Paris.
