Description

3555. Lieutenant-Colonel Bruce, Halifax to Clinton confirming the death of Brigadier-General McLean on 'the 4th'. and that command of the British troops has passed to Colonel De Seitz as instructed by the late McLean. Requests that a British officer replacing McLean be sent immediately as communications between De Seitz and British officers very difficult due to language difficulties.
