3444. Cornwallis to Clinton. Camp near Wilmington. Reporting that military operations were uniformly successful and the victory at Guildford [Court House] was very complete. Gives a detailed account of the movements of his men and the lack of supplies. He is now employed in disposing of the sick and wounded and in procurring supplies of all kinds to put the troops into a proper state to take the field. Also is expectantly looking out for the (expected) reinforcement from Europe to enable him to act offensively, and is anxious to receive commands.
