Description

3437. Balfour to Clinton. Charlestown. Discussion on how there is want of all kinds of ordnance stores, especially small arms which are frequently lost in action. Having been obliged to send 1,000 stand to Cape fear and the total unfitness for service of those left behind. Cornwallis is in greatest want of every supply, so sending what he can even though he has extensive demands himself. Mentions the danger which threatens West Florida, sending what supplies of ammunition and provisions can be spared. Arrival of the Spanish Fleet at Pensacola. Enclosed is proceedings of general Courts Martial.
