Description

3429. Germain to Clinton. Whitehall. Separate. With regard to the application made to the Earl of Sandwich by the Duc de Nivernois [Duke of Nivernais] on behalf of the Vicomte Dubuisson, who was taken prisoner by the troops under the command of Lord Cornwallis on the 16 August last. He is not at Philadelphia upon his parole desiring that he may be permitted to return to France for the recovery of his health. Sending a copy of the dukes memorandum to Lord Sandwich in which the particulars of the case are set forth. Has no doubt that Clinton will grant his request.
