Folio 364: Commissioner Richard Beach, Portsmouth. Report on the work to be done on the Jersey, Monk, St. David, Oxford and Advice, by order of Lord Torrington and Admiral Russell. Asks if they would be better to buy the tallow and oil locally as it is of better quality. He will endeavour to get the timber merchants to get their money in London. The Purveyor will go to Poole to survey some small masts and to give an account of Mr. Day's timber. Seamen will not pick oakum, for any money. Asks for the new Officers to be hastened down. Asks for a Master to come from Trinity House to lay the buoys at No Mans Land. He has delivered the Muster books to the Clerk of the Cheque, except those for Captain Stanley of the Duke.
