Description

Folio 354: Commissioner Richard Beach, Portsmouth. Lord Torrington He has ordered the graving of many ships, which will involve a lot of expense in tallow. He will distribute the muster books and tickets to the Captains and obtain receipts. Mr. Brouncker's brazier is the only one in the area, which is why he makes difficulties. Mr. Taylor's masts will be of use to the service but they were not of the size they needed, asks for some to be sent. Report on the progress on the Monk, Jersey, Advice and Warspite, by order of Lord Torrington and Admiral Russell. The buoys, which came on the Transporter, can be used at Spithead and Newman's land. The Ropemakers are on day and a half work, bur Mr. Holland has fallen desperately ill. The Master Shipwright's Assistant has arrived, but not Mr. Furzer. William Stigant is leaving for London and Thomas Podd will follow. Captain Billop's resin was disposed of before the Board's letter arrived. The ships in harbour have been put into petty warrant.
