Folio 148: Daniel Furzer, Naval Officer, Kinsale. The Smith he employed being a local man, he was recommended as having made a set of rother irons for a Norway man, but lacked the skills to make them for the Shark and the spring tide was lost. He has instructed another Smith to go down but it will be 10 days before the tide will be right for her to be grounded. He did everything possible to progress the work having bought iron and coals here and, having to go to Kinsale to oversee the Superb's fitting, he asked the ship's Carpenter to ensure the work's progress with Captain Goddard in attendance.
