Description

Folio 135: Daniel Furzer, Naval Officer, Kinsale. Copy letter from Captain Goddard of the Shark sloop. The work of the Ropemaker, Smith and Mason for the Superb is nearing completion. He gives an account of the damage to the sails which the Sailmaker has brought ashore for repair. About 99 men from the ship are ashore sick. He intends to go to Cork tomorrow to assist Captain Goddard but is concerned that the storm will make it dangerous for getting into the harbour.
