An active member of the Communist Party during the war, AARONOVTCH was a full time Communist Party official in Scotland before joining the Party's Education Department in London as Assistant National Organiser. After the war he was secretary of the Communist Party Cultural Committee. In 1955 he became secretary of the Communist Party's Central London area
