2804. Clinton to Lieutenant Gratton, R. H. Powell and William Greenwood. Headquarters, Charlestown. Appointment as trustees for the purposes specified with annexed representation of the general and field officers of the army reserving to a future occasion 'the giving you now formal powers'. In the meantime the effects described are to be stored in the house of T. Ruthidge but no distribution or disposal thereof be made without further authority from Clinton.
