2778. Lieutenant-Colonel Thomas Brown to Clinton. Savannah, Georgia. Mr Moore has laid before him sundry accounts of expenses incurred by the order of Tonyn for subsistence and presents for visiting Indians amounting to £1,005 7s 2d. These accounts do not come within his estimate so he cannot discharge them without His Excellency's approval. Discusses how the Indians cannot be weaned, and the expense to keep them in good temper. Moore is directed to wait and receive orders. Marked, 'Opended by General Paterson', Commander-in-Chief in Charlestown, and referred to His Excellency the Commander-in-Chief G. Benson M.B., 17 June 1780.
