Administrative / biographical background

Various Legal Aid Board departments created and submitted papers for consideration by the Legal Aid Board Committee. The functions of the committee were similar to the board itself: to ensure that its activities were commensurate with the principles of the Legal Aid Act 1988 and to ensure that advice, assistance and representation are available in accordance with this Act and in administering the Act. The meetings took place every month.
