The Special Immigration Appeals Commission is an independent commission established by the Special Immigration Appeals Commissions Act 1997. Its jurisdiction covers the whole of the United Kingdom with a dedicated hearing centre based in London. Its function is to process, manage and hear appeals against decisions made by the Home Secretary under the Terrorism Act 2000 and the Anti-terrorism, Crime and Security Act 2001.
