1409. Governor Patrick Tonyn to General Sir Henry Clinton. A letter from St Augustine acknowledging letter of 25 [September]. Says that the province needed the Rangers to assist in the defence of the frontiers, but they have no barracks or quarters, and camp on the frontiers, but are expected to look after their horses and equipment at their own expense, although were only paid a shilling a day. If the rebels attacked the Indian Nations, they would be needed so should be looked after, and an attack be made on Georgia.
