1395. Major-General William Phillips to Major Joshua Mercereau. A letter from Cambridge being a receipt to the American Commissary of Prisoners for six Brunswick Regiment officers exchanged, but it thought improper for soldiers to be left without officers, so are kept for that reason. Also, an acknowlegement by Mercereau, promising their release as soon as possible for the same reason, and dated 27 Sep 1778.
