1614. Germain to Clinton. Whitehall. Number 23. Since the letter of 2nd instant, every preparation for the supply of the army under his command with necessaries for the ensuing campaign has been carrying on with the greatest diligence. Stores in the enclosed list have been ordered to be provided by 20 February, when shipping is to be in readiness to receive them and 3,000 British recruits will embark at that time. Mentions not being able to purchase items in New York because of cost and the waste of the tents last sent. Clinton's appointment as Colonel-in-Chief of the Regiment of Loyal Highland Emigrants.
