Description

Prisoner name: Mary Bennett and Sarah Redderford.

Court and date of trial: Surrey Lent Assizes held at Kingston upon Thames March 1823.

Crime: Uttering counterfeit coin.

Initial sentence: Imprisonment for one year and to find sureties for two years.

Annotated (Outcome): 19 January 1824, Can they find sureties? Yes. 2 February 1824 To be pardoned.

Petitioner(s): Prisoners.

Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): Original trial postponed due to prosecutrix's illness; have already been in prison for one year; family dependants.
