The Minister's Office of the Ministry of Public Building and Works was created in 1962 and in 1970, it was absorbed into the Private Secretary's Office of the newly created Department of the Environment. The Office provided support to the Private Office in respect of correspondence sent to the Minister requiring a response over his signature.
