Description

Various miscellaneous items from the Alienation Office.

Nearly half the series consists of warrant books and original or copy warrants which give information about office appointments, salaries and pensions drawn on the office's funds, including a large one granted to the Duke of St Albans, bastard son of Charles II, in 1694. There are also some copies of the office's yearly accounts, 1684 and 1700 to 1715, and a variety of internal accounts, with some retrospective material relating to the reign of Charles I.
