Folios 18-19. Thomas Waite to [unknown]. Concerning complaints of French prisoners of war. Sir Francis Gehogean complains that his effects were taken, and that confinement has made him very ill. French prisoners at Carlisle [Cumberland] and officers taken on board the Soleil, privateer, need linen and beds. They hope to enjoy full benefit of the Cartel. Men removed from Tower [of London] need straw to sleep on and clean linen. Keeper of Marshalsea prison will ask for increase in prisoners' daily allowances. Dated at Whitehall [Middlesex].
