Folios 7 and 10. Philip Carteret Webb to Thomas Waite. Concerning rebel [Jacobite] prisoners above the rank of common men, under sentence of death at Carlisle [Cumberland] and York [Yorkshire]. Dated at Budge Row, London. Enclosure:
1. Folios 8-9. List of rebel prisoners. At York: Sir David Murray. At Carlisle: James Smith; Robert Maxwell; Robert Wright; William Home; Henry Clerk; William Sharp; Andrew Porteous. Two 'common' prisoners at Carlisle were involved in 1715 rebellion: Robert Randall, excise officer; James Ancram, salt reeve. With list of prisoners indicted at Carlisle but not tried: Charles Douglas, calls himself Lord Mordington; Thomas Blair; Alexander Ritchie; Robert McFarlane; John Stewart; Malcolm Graham.
