Rebel [Jacobite] commanding officer was at the Queen's Head in Chorley [Lancashire], run by John Taylor. Saw man taken to meet commander; Thomas Standish, butcher, told him it was Mr Tildesley. Was at Hoghton [Lanachire] the next day, where Tildesley tried to convince him and John Orrel [?Orrell] to join 'Prince' [Charles Edward Stuart]. Sworn before Bradshaw and Percival. Dated at Manchester.
