Folio 131. 'A Copy Revised and Compared by J Hopwood'. Information of John Taylor, linen weaver from Hopwood, Lancashire. Information against Dr Deacon of Manchester [Lancashire]. Went to Manchester on 29 November 1745 to 'behold' rebels [Jacobites]. Recognised as member of Lancashire militia and taken prisoner; Deacon and a rebel colonel searched and questioned him. Saw Deacon drink to the 'Prince's' [Charles Edward Stuart's] health. Sworn before Justices of the Peace Thomas Percivall, William Horton, Robert Duckinfield, J Bradshaw and Robert Entwisle. Dated at Lancashire. Filed with:
