Folio 122. Information of John Parkinson, weaver of Lancaster [Lancashire]. Information against Dr Burton. Burton was in Lancaster around 25 November 1745. He claimed rebels [Jacobites] took him prisoner at Hornby [Lancashire], but Parkinson saw no guards and he still carried pistols. Burton wanted to buy a horse, claiming he had information for General Ligonier. Burton cheered when 'the Prince' [Charles Edward Stuart] entered town. Burton also claimed rebels could raise 100,000 men in Wales. Sworn before R G Sawrey, Justice of the Peace. Dated at Lancaster.
