1. Folio 52. Sir William Gardiner to Duke of Bolton. Deputy Lieutenants and Justices of the Peace held meeting at Winton [Winchester, Hampshire] on 20 December 1745; ordered two new beacons on Portsdown Hill, and appointed a watchman on Hayling Island [Hampshire]. Dated at Roche Court [Fareham, Hampshire], 4 February 1746.
