Folio 109. Viscount Lonsdale [to Duke of Newcastle] with intelligence predicting the surrender of Carlisle [Cumberland][to the Jacobite army]. Received, by express, 17 November 1745. Dated at Byram [Yorkshire]. Enclosing:
Folios 110-111. Tho [Thomas] Richardson to Lonsdale, with intelligence sent from the governor of Carlisle to [General] Wade, saying the town will be delivered to the rebels, but the Castle will be defended. Dated at Post office, Penrith [Cumberland].
