Examination of Giles Jones, a surgeon living at Bath [Somerset] concerning his associations with Jacobites in Rome [Italy] in 1743, including meeting 'the Pretender's Son' [Charles Edward Stuart] in the Borghese or Medici Gardens; [Roman Catholic priest, Robert] Gordon, whom he met in Paris [France]; [John Philips alias Cotterel] Cottrel, a captain in Duke of Montagu's [regiment?] at Leghorn [Livorno]; [Nathaniel Elliot, alias] 'Sheldon', at Mr Oldisworth's [residence]; and Lord Dunbar. Signed by [Earl of] Harrington. Dated at Whitehall [London, Middlesex].
