Folios 60-61. Examination of George Lockhart of Cornwarth, living at Dryden [Selkirkshire], saying that, at the time of Prestonpans, he went to Edinburgh because his wife had fallen ill there; she had gone to persuade their runaway son not to join with the [Jacobite] rebels. At Berwick [upon Tweed, Northumberland, Berwickshire] he sought a passport to travel to London, but was detained by [General] Sir [John] Cope. Taken before Duke of Newcastle and Lord Harrington.
