Description

The series comprises files on the administration of the order. The current statutes provide for the awards of Companionships and Medals for meritorious service for specified periods of years in the UK Home Civil Service or in the Civil Services of self-governing Commonwealth countries which acknowledge the Queen; for numerical limits to the numbers of Companions and Medals; and that the Secretary to the Order shall be the person for the time being holding the office of Head of the UK Home Civil Service.
