This series consists of two volumes which contain the summary of the minutes of the South Kensington meetings of the Standing Committee prepared for the General Meetings of the Board of Trustees by the Director of the British Museum (Natural History). Early précis are very detailed and run to 20 or more pages; later examples are just a single sheet of paper. The minutes of the Standing Committee were laid before the Board at its General Meeting, the précis was read by the Director, and the minutes were formally approved.
