The Central Veterinary Laboratory in Weybridge, Surrey, was responsible for veterinary research to promote the health of the general public, farm livestock and wildlife. Research was undertaken both at the central laboratory and in a network of veterinary investigation centres. In 1990, the Laboratory became an executive agency of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
The VLP series was established in 1969 to hold records of research projects. It was closed in 1989.
