Selected under Acquisition Policy criterion 2.2.1.3, documenting the signals intelligence effort against Japanese communications in the Second World War. All surviving reports selected.
The Central Bureau, Brisbane was established in September 1942 to target intercepted Japanese communications and provide raw intelligence material for the allies in the Far East and Pacific theatre of the war. Though the Bureau was an American-run centre, a number of British and Australian staff also worked there. The reports of intercepted material were sent to the Government Code and Cypher School (among other recipients), and it is these reports which now form this series.
