This series contains registered files of the Polytechnics and Colleges Funding Council, and are similar in content to those in UGC 7, though dealing with the provision of higher education courses within further education establishments. The series contains the meeting papers of the Programme Advisory Groups. There were nine of these each covering a separate subject area and were the first point of contact for colleges funded by the PCFC. They dealt with recurrent funding, funding methodology and strategic planning. The series also contains the records of a number of other groups including the Gowrie Committee on the London Music Conservatories, the Committee on Performance Indicators, the Mergers and Polytechnic Designation working group and the Teaching Quality Committee.
