Maurice Geoffrey Sawyer, the Museum Photographer, worked within the Director's Office from 1937, being a member of the Exhibition Section from 1948 until he retired in 1970. He was succeeded by Peter John Green (b 1932), as first head of the Photographic Section, which was transferred to the Department of Central Services in 1974.
