Folio(s) 491-492. Letter from Dr Charles Fletcher at Frith Street, Soho [Westminster], submitting material [none present] in support of his statement of 12 September. As Lord Bolton had written to the Home Secretary of Fletcher's talents and efforts in the service of government, particularly his writings during the recent troubles in Ireland, copies of these were now submitted together with a letter of thanks from Lord Castlereagh communicated by Mr Knox.
Fletcher continues to exercise his talents by an intended work on the subject of the Foundling Hospital, the House of Industry, and the Charter Schools of Ireland, to further education, health and morals, and to bring peace and prosperity to Ireland. He submits a specimen sheet from this proposed work and hopes that, if it meets with the Home Secretary's approval, he may dedicate it to him on publication.
Fletcher states that he will be unable to pursue this work unless the legitimate claims made in his earlier letter are settled. His papers mentioned therein have been submitted to [Henry Addington] by the Secretary at War together with testimonials from Lord Bolton, Lord Dunmore and Sir Andrew Hamond. He asks that the Home Secretary should speak to Addington on his behalf.
