Description

Folio(s) 479-480. Letter from [Richard Ford] at Weymouth [Dorset], saying that he thinks the application on behalf of [John Donovan] should be acceded to as he has behaved well in Revett's custody. Ford had reported the particulars of the case of Metcalfe [Urban Metcalf] to [Henry Addington] while he was at Weymouth. Addington was convinced that, in the light of the [James Hadfield] trial, Metcalfe should not be subject to legal process but sent to Bedlam [Bethlem Hospital] for life.
