Folio(s) 463-464. Letter from [Richard Ford] at Weymouth [Dorset] enclosing depositions [not present] indicating that the case of Urban Metcalfe [Metcalf] is a serious matter, he being now accused of throwing a penknife at the King. Ford states that Metcalfe's sanity has to be established in London by the authorities mentioned in his previous letter.
In a postscript Ford adds that it might in the meantime be better not to treat the man as a lunatic but to hold him on suspicion of high treason. Not being a Dorset magistrate, he can only give advice, which may not always be well received. He does however have possession of the knife.
