Folios 44-49.
To: The General Board of Health.
From: Robert Rawlinson, Superintending Inspector.
Subject Matter: Rawlinson reports that there are ancient rights to the use of water from the mill at Rotherhithe, [Kent], identified as a nuisance by the rector, Edward Blick, and that the millpond is 'a most dangerous nuisance'. The district is increasingly populous, the houses have no sewers and there is no street paving. William Gomm and Mr Back own the soil of the pond and the mill. Cholera was prevalent 1849-50. The Commissioners of Sewers must be consulted about any works to be undertaken.
