To: The General Board of Health.
From: W C Satchell, Tunbridge Wells [Kent].
Subject Matter: Letter acknowledging receipt of a circular from the General Board of Health. Satchell states that he does not know whether he is expected to answer it as the Medical Officer of the district of the Union in which he resides, or whether it is 'a circular of general application'. He explains, however, that there is 'not a word of truth in the information received by the Board', that epidemic disease 'extensively prevails' at Tunbridge Wells. Satchell adds that he has no contagious epidemic whatsoever amongst his patients.
