To: The General Board of Health.
From: George Shepherd, Civil Engineer, Imperial Russian Agency, 12 Pall Mall East, London.
Subject Matter: Letter advising that Robert Stephenson, Civil Engineer, and 'several other scientific and influential gentlemen' will meet at the Imperial Russian Agency on Thursday 17 February 1853, 'to witness some large experiments for manufacturing guano [manure] from the sewage of London'. Shepherd invites members of the General Board of Health to attend the same meeting.
