Description (What the record is about)
-
This series consists of registers of departmental correspondence of the Department of Zoology. The registers provide a daily record of letters coming into the department, with an indication of who dealt with them. The register covering 1909-1921 does not seem to include the Keeper's correspondence in DF 200/53-72, and neither does the 1933-1936 register include Keeper's letters for that period. The 1921-1932 registers give a file reference to items in DF 200/73-95. The four indexes are incomplete and cannot at present be interpreted.
Series held at The Natural History Museum are catalogued more fully in its online catalogue (reference DF ZOO/204). Online descriptions of some individual records can also be viewed on Discovery, see DF 204.
