To: G B Lloyd, Futroy and Company, 11 and 12 Beak Street, Golden Square, London.
From: The General Board of Health.
Subject Matter: Draft letter acknowledging receipt of a letter of the 4 September. In reply the Board forwards a circular [not in item] for information as to the necessary steps to take for the removal of nuisances. They call Lloyds attention to the latter part of the circular and to advise him to proceed against the landlord under section 1 of the Nuisances Removal and Diseases Prevention Act 1848 if he refuses to deal with this matter. They add that the sewers are currently under the jurisdiction of the Commissioners of Sewers, and therefore the Board has no power to interfere with them.
