Folio 28. Lieutenant Robt [Robert] Barker, of Lord Henry Beauclerk's regiment, to the Duke of Newcastle, concerning letters being sent by the rebel [Jacobite] prisoners on board four ships anchored off the coast [at Tilbury, Essex?]. Four letters from 'one Tyler' [James Taylor?], an imprisoned priest, forwarded on to the Duke for examination. Letters from Mr Gordon the Younger of Glenbucket, were considered acceptable and were sent to their intended recipients; to the Duke of Atholl, to the Solicitor General, and to the Lord of the Session. Also mentions McNeal of Barra. Dated at Gravesend [Kent].
