This small series was not registered with the Welsh Office's Central Registry and was maintained in the office of Ian Dewar, Under-secretary with responsibility for devolution matters. The records mainly contain internal correspondence with the Secretary of State for Wales and Permanent Secretary on a number of devolution related issues. These include comments on the report of the Kilbrandon Committee and discussions over a permanent home for the elected Assembly.
