John Hay acknowledges the injustice of his accusing petition against messengers Jn [John] Money and Thos [Thomas] Chandler, regarding the conditions of his imprisonment and subsequently stating that 'ever since I have been in custody - I never wanted for anything' and that 'our lying on straw [rather than feather] beds was by the desire of us one and all'. Original complaint entered with: James Ross; Daniel Monroe; James Grant; Duncan Grant; Daniel Frazir; and Walter Ross. Witnessed by J Williams.
