Folios 189-190. Ja [James] Graham to [Andrew] Stone, concerning the cases of several [Jacobite] prisoners convicted at Carlisle [Cumberland]. Confirming that a petition and several affidavits in support of Sir Archibald Primrose have been sent to the King. Graham believes James Ancram and James Forbes are both guilty, but recommends George Hartly [Hartley], of Lancaster [Lancashire], and Hugh Roy, a young highlander, for mercy. Outlines the case of prisoner John Henderson, writer and attorney of Lochmaben, Dumfriesshire, who has submitted a petition for mercy, but is due to be executed.
