Description

Folio 130-139. Philip Carteret Webb to the Duke of Newcastle, concerning rebel [Jacobite] prisoners who pleaded guilty at Carlisle [Cumberland]. Dated at Doncaster [Yorkshire]. Enclosing:

Folio 131. Account, number 1, of 11 rebel prisoners condemned at Carlisle who pleaded guilty on their arraignment. Their names are: Roger Fulthorpe; Charles Gordon; James Innes; Robert Taylor; Ronald McDonald; Henry Clerk; James Mitchell; Peter Lindsay; William Sharp; Patrick Kerr; Alexander Davidson. Also mentions James Wilson, an Edinburgh sheriff's officer; and Thomas Wilson, a drummer in the Edinburgh city guard.

Folios 132 - 137. Account, number 2, of the 31 rebel prisoners at Carlisle that withdrew their pleas and pleaded guilty.
